Arsonists keep firefighters busy over the weekend

ARSONISTS have struck across Rotherham over the weekend in four incidents.

At 12.30am on Saturday morning, a fire crew rom Rotherham station was called to Main Street, Rawmarsh, to put out a deliberately started blaze in a wheelie bin.

They spent half-an-hour tackling the fire.

Later, at 4.30am on Saturday, a car was deliberately ignited on Haugh Road, Rawmarsh.

Crews spent around 20 minutes at the scene.

The make and model of the vehicle has not been revealed by South Yorkshire Fire Service.

At 12.40am on Sunday, an Audi car was set on fire on Fitzwilliam Road, Eastwood.

A fire crew spent 20 minutes at the scene.

On Sunday, a pile of rubbish was set ablaze on Canklow Road, Canklow, at 8.10pm and a fire crew spent 20 minutes bringing it under control.
