AMP firm sold to Sheffield company

A HYDRAULICS firm based near the Advanced Manufacturing Park has been bought by a Sheffield company.

Neilson was taken over by VHS Hydraulic Components, which described the move as a large step forward.

Former Neilson managing director John Yarnall has taken a new role as general manager at the parent firm.

VHS managing director Rob Turner said: “Neilson and VHS complement each other very well. 

“Both companies have so much to offer each other, with the vast nationwide distribution network of VHS and the highly technical team of Neilson’s.

“It is an exciting time for us all, with everyone inside the group being fully behind the acquisition. Exciting times lay ahead.”

VHS and Neilson, which is based in Catcliffe, supply components to companies in industries like agriculture, construction, engineering, farming, recycling and steel.

The group has access to stock exceeding £5 million and sister firm Parmafluid is among the leading equivalent companies in Italy.
