500 tonnes of plastic could be on fire at recycling plant
It is believed that up to 500 tonnes of plastic is on fire at the Universal Recycling plant on Wharf Road site in Swinton.
Police are uging people living nearby to stay indoors and keep doors and windows closed.

Drivers are being told to steer clear of the area.
Bus services have been disrupted.
Crews from Rotherham, Dearne, Edlington, Aston and Tankersley are currently at the scene after being called at 9.59am.
It is believed that more than 30 firefighters are currently tackling the blaze.
Cllr Ken Wyatt has tweeted that there is no evacuation of residents planned at this time.
