Youngsters turn into superheroes at Thrybergh country park

MORE than 1,000 visitors saw youngsters become superheroes at Thrybergh Country Park.

Among the attractions was the chance to play Spider-Man on the climbing wall and be a speedboat daredevil on the lake.

Also at the park on Sunday was a wildlife treasure hunt, a vintage bus, and make your own pottery workshops.

South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue, Rotherham’s fostering team and wildlife protection groups were among the stallholders.

Cllr Taiba Yasseen, Rotherham Borough Council’s Cabinet member for cultural services, said: “Thrybergh Country Park is a lovely part of Rotherham, and the new Tutti Frutti ice cream parlour and soft play area means there’s never been a better time to visit.”

Geoff Eagle, chairman of Friends of Thrybergh Country Park, said: “The event was a huge success.”
