At a recent public meeting held at Broom Lane Methodist Church WRAG outlined our intentions to oppose the outline planning application and to raise funds by means of public donations in order to commission two independent technical notes on traffic and drainage to challenge those submitted in support of the planning application. We are now pleased to report that, with the help of generous donations from many local residents who are opposed to this applicational we have achieved our aims and the two technical notes have been produced by engineers with expertise and copies of these notes have been sent to RMBC panning department, to each member of RMBC planning board and to Whiston Parish Council.  Both technical notes raise many issues which have not been properly addressed in the outline planning application and suggest that this application be rejected on the grounds that it does not comply with the National Planning Policy Framework. Thanks go to all who have contributed to WRAG and to those who have submitted objections to the plan. The closing date for objections is to-day (June  14th). No date has been set for the Planning Board hearing to consider the outline planning application but if anyone wishes to speak at the meeting then they must register in advance wilth RMBC.
