WENTWORTH WOMEN’S INSTITUTE: January 14 – the first meeting of the New Year. Further information was given regarding the visit to York on May 21 when there will be free time in York followed by a visit Scampston Gardens and then on to Cawood WI. Ruth Gough from Wingham Wool Work invited members to the Wentworth Knit and Natter Group held on the third Tuesday in every month 11am-4pm in the Mechanics Institute (Village Hall), cost £3.50. The speaker for the evening was Adrian Egglestone who gave a talk on DNA. The competition was: photograph of grandparents – 1st Jennifer Brunskill, 2nd Mavis Ainsworth, 3rd Kath Cutting. Meetings are usually on the second Thursday in each month. £3 for visitors, meet in the Mechanics Institute (Village Hall) opposite the main car park in the village 7.30pm. The list of events is dotted around the village.
