WENTWORTH WOMEN’S INSTITUTE: October 8 meeting – the group discussed making a donation to a suitable local recipient and decided on £50 to Wentworth Toddlers Group. The speaker for the evening was Martin Johnson who talked about the Roman History of the Dearne Valley. The competition was An Old Coin: 1st Mavis Ainsworth, 2nd Linda Wragg, 3rd Glenys Smales. The next meeting will be November 12 7.30pm. The speaker will be Pat McLaughlin who will give a talk on Buckingham Palace. The competition will be a royal souvenir. Meetings are usually on the second Thursday in each month. £3 for visitors. Meet in the village hall opposite the main car park 7.30pm.
