TREETON PARISH COUNCIL: At a recent meeting, in Matters Arising it was reported that essential work required in the youth club had been completed. Also that borough councillor D Hughes will take up the matter of warning signs on Long Lane and Bole Hill regarding horse riding. In Police and the Local Community, PCSO Anthony Brown reported that PCSO Julie Jackson has now moved on. This followed a review where 65 officers will be losing their posts. This will also mean that the village will not receive the same level of service that it had received in previous years. In Correspondence Received, RMBC sent notification of the costs incurred in the parish elections of 2015. The total was £198.81 and will be charged to the parish council. RMBC Environment and Development Services sent a letter saying that they are again running their Winter Partnership Scheme. Unfortunately, Treeton would not be able to participate as they had no facility to store five tonnes of grit salt. There was also an application for an allotment on Well Lane from Rod Williams and this has been placed on the waiting list. Under Borough Councillor’s report, Cllr Hughes said that he had been on a walk around the village with Cllr Goy. He discussed progress on the Waverly development and said that he had written to Treeton Medical Centre regarding possible relocation to the Waverly site and they were interested. It was suggested that they would remain in the village as well. He also said that RMBC budget discussions were now underway and this could mean 200 job losses. Under Allotments, Environment and Cemeteries, the clerk said that he had met with Philip Gray of Foers about the proposed seats in the burial ground and it was agreed that they will be advertised in the March 2016 newsletter. There were also discussions about new ashes plots in the burial ground and tests will be made at a cost of £40 per plot to be paid by the purchaser. Under Recreation Grounds and Play Areas, Cllr Whysall asked about the usage of the Cow Field sports field on Washfield Lane and the chairman said that it was used Tuesday to Friday evening for training and Saturday and Sunday for matches. The chairman added that they are still looking for somewhere to put the club’s container. The chairman said that he had met with the dog warden about the amount of dog mess around the village. The warden has since visited the village on a couple of occasions and three people had been caught and fines issued. The visits by the warden will continue. Under Community Centre, Cllr Adair wished to thank Wilmot Dixon who had funded gas boiler repairs. The central heating is now working and the centre is doing well. In Planning, notification was received of Rotherham Local Plan, publication of the sites and policy document. The letter outlined what the document was about, where it could be viewed and how any comments could be made. Any representations were to be received by November 9. The clerk outlined the accounts to date and produced a copy of the cash book and up-to-date finance statements. He also reported that he had written to all employees to let them know that they could join a pension scheme if they wished. The clerk also reported that he had received a letter from Good and Co solicitors on behalf of their client who is claiming damages due to a fall in the Wood Lane burial ground. This has been passed on to the parish council’s insurers.
