ST GERARD’S CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL: The new road safety officers are Maddison Churms, Amelia Gurran and Aiden Manton. They will work alongside Mrs Angel to ensure that children are safe and to highlight the dangers of crossing the road. There will be an open evening on October 14. Friends of St Gerard’s – the recent bag packing event raised £700. The next bag pack is on October 10-11 at Morrison’s in Bramley. Cross country – St Gerard’s competed in the Cross Country Festival at St Bernard’s. The team had new kit and training tops donated by the Friends of St Gerard’s. The school had several through to the finals, most notably Alex Coates coming first and Elisabeth Shadwick in the top ten. Football training for children in Y3-6 is on Monday 3.15-4.15pm. Mrs Burgin is looking for more children in Y4-6 to join her High Fives Club on a Tuesday. The Feast of St Gerard’s Family Disco – at the Top Club, Thrybergh on October 10 7pm, tickets £1 each. St Gerard’s Support Fund – the school asks for a contribution from each family of 60p per week, which can also be paid as £8 per term or £24 per year.
