ST BEDE’S CHURCH: Masses during the week were celebrated for Joseph Patrick Box, safe journeys, Thomas Jordan, Gaughan family, Andy and Karen Yianni and Tommy Bates. The walk from Immaculate Conception to St Marie’s Cathedral in Sheffield took place with pilgrims going through the Holy Door for the Year of Mercy and taking part in a service in the cathedral. There will be a bowling evening on June 13, warm up 6pm and games start 7.30pm. The final talk for readers, ministers and catechists will take place tomorrow at Annunciation Chesterfield. The diocesan pilgrimage to Walsingham takes place on July 16, contact 01709510448. The relics of St Anthony of Padua will be visiting St Marie’s Cathedral on June 23, veneration and prayer will take place throughout the day. The Hallam Diocesan Justice and Peace Commission is holding an open morning on June 18 9.30am-1pm at the Hallam Pastoral Centre to explore the refugee crisis, contact 0114 266 5474 to book a place. On June 2, a full parish council meeting took place to discuss how St Bede’s can become a centre of liturgical excellence and missionary  outreach as instructed by Bishop Ralph.
