MALTBY TOWN COUNCIL: The Town Council meeting on January 7 was attended by 13 councillors, town clerk Mrs K Butler and members of the public. The clerk updated that the defibrillator is now in full working order. It was resolved that the clerk contacts English Heritage to ascertain information on the blue plaque scheme and for them to send all the necessary information in order to site a plaque for the Alzanas. It was agreed that the clerk contacts local and principal authorities throughout the north of England to enquire if there is anything they are requesting to help with the clean-up after the flooding. It was resolved that the clerk looks at the new Rotherham plan to see if anything is highlighted regarding infrastructure in Maltby. It was agreed that the clerk invites Bernadette Rushton from RMBC to look at Maltby High Street with the chair and vice-chair of the council and to give any advice on how the council can encourage new business to the town. It was agreed that Green Energy is awarded the solar panel contract. It was reported that there were problems with the main path in Maltby Cemetery including potholes and flooding. The safety event had gone well and Victim Support would like to come and speak to the Town Council.

MALTBY TOWN COUNCIL ALLOTMENT COMPETITION: This will take place on week commencing July 11.
MALTBY TOWN COUNCIL HORTICULTURAL SHOW: The show will take place on August 20. There are over 100 classes this year in Fruit, Vegetables, Flowers, Domestic and Children’s sections. There is also one section which will be judged solely on RHS rules. Contact Maltby Town Council on 01709 814060. The list of sections in the Horticultural Show can be found on ther council’s website.
