ST MARY’S: September 7 – the craft club met in the church school room. September 8 – Tuesday Sunbeams pre-school group met in church. September 9 – 9.30am service of Holy communion, Rev Lyn Wortley presided. September 10 – Pints of View quiz and question time with Bishop Chris Edmondson, Bishop of Bolton, was held at the Milton, Church Street. September 11 – Thurcroft Welfare Band held a brass band concert in St Mary’s Church, all proceeds to the Youth Worker Fund and the Ramp Access and Windows Fund. September 12-13 – Messy Church held at Rotherham Show. September 13 – 10.30am holy communion, Rev Lyn Wortley presided.

 

GREENSIDE: September 12’s Macmillan coffee morning raised £917.20.

GREASBROUGH COMMUNITY BOWLING CLUB: September 7 – Phil Evans doubles round 1, Darryl Woodburn and Peter Jackson; 21up doubles, Martyn Critchlow and Clive Denton, Martyn Heap and Keef Hobson; 11up triple, Dot Payne; Eric Johnson Trophy round 1, David Mee. September 9 – 21up triple, Martyn Critchlow; Eric Johnson Trophy semi-final, Martyn Heap; 21up doubles, Maureen Taylor and Dot Payne; Phil Evans doubles semi-final, Darryl Woodburn and Peter Jackson. September 10 – 21up singles, Ian Garfitt, Sue Garfitt; 21up doubles, Martyn Heap and Martyn Critchlow, Bob Clarkson and Dot Payne. September 11 – the club played its last Friday night doubles match away to Phoenix B and drew 2-2, but lost the aggregate by one point. September 13 – the club had its finals day. The trophy winners are: summer round robin, The Richard Hennessey Trophy, Martyn Critchlow; Greasbrough Cup, Martyn Heap; Fulwood Rosebowl, Dennis Routledge and Tom Brown; Arthur King Trophy, Martyn Heap; Phil Evans doubles, Darryl Woodburn and Peter Jackson; Eric Johnson Trophy, Martyn Heap. A presentattion evening will be held in the Prince of Wales pub on October 2.
