ST LEONARD’S CHURCH SERVICES: Sunday Services 1st, 2nd, 4th Sunday 10.45am parish communion, 3rd Sunday 8am holy communion (said-traditional), 3rd Sunday Service 10.45am for all ages with thanksgiving for the gift of a child. Weekday services 9am Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning prayer, 9.30am Wednesday holy communion. Church open and refreshments available Monday-Saturday 10-11.30am. Heritage Day tomorrow and St Leonard’s will be looking at Dinnington and the surrounding area on VE Day. Go along and look at the marriage register and baptismal register for that period. There will be artifacts on show from that period along with work produced by Y4 children at Anston Park Junior School in connection with VE Day. Church will be open tomorrow 9.30am-2pm, Sunday 10.45am-1pm, Monday-Friday 9.30-11am. To mark the end of Heritage Week on September 18 there will be An Evening of Fun and Games 6pm. DINNINGTON AND DISTRICT HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY SHOW: 2-4pm tomorrow in Anston Parish Hall. Exhibitors with entries welcome to enter show, contact 01909 567326 for a show schedule and information. Set up of exhibits takes place this evening 6-9pm and tomorrow morning 8-9.30am, judging commences 10.15am. The evening talk on October 12 7.30pm is by Stephen Gay on Railways in the Yorkshire Landscape. The Autumn Fayre will be on October 24 2-4pm, admission 20p, there will be craft stalls, a raffle and tombola and bric-a-brac, books, cakes, plants, toys and refreshments. The evening talk on November 9 7.30pm will be by Alicia Barker on Clifton House Museum and the evening talk on December 14 7.30pm will be by Gerry Kersey on 47 Years in Radio. All events held in Anston Parish Hall.
