BRINSWORTH LIBRARY: Activities and events take place regularly – Rhymetime: rhymes, stories and crafts for 0-5s and grown-ups every Tuesday 10am, free to join, no need to book; Story Stop!: story and craft every other Monday 3.30pm, for 4-7 year olds, free to join, contact a member of staff for details; Knit and Natter, Crochet and Chatter: bring needlecraft every Thursday 3-5pm, no need to book; Brinsworth Readers Group – Thrillers: this month’s book is local author Danuta Reah’s The Last Room, readers meet third Monday of month 3-4pm, contact a member of staff for details; Brinsworth Young Readers: readers group for young people aged ten-plus, contact member of staff, group will run once a month, day to be confirmed. BRINSWORTH AND CATCLIFFE LOCAL HISTORY GROUP: The group had a meeting on May 11 6-30pm where speaker Ian Dewhirst talked about Yorkshire Dialect Prose and Verse. The group meets at Brinsworth Pavilion at the rear of the Brinsworth Community Centre on Brinsworth Lane on the second Wednesday of every month.

BRINSWORTH MANOR INFANT AND NURSERY: The reception classes have visited Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Youngsters in classes 7,8 and 9 will be having their eyesight checked. The school is planning on opening a new breakfast club in September. It will be run for a maximum of 20 children per day for the first half term.
