CARD SHARPS: A pack of 17 players contested the latest whist drive in the New Hall on August 27. Helen Crowson, Betty McHugh, Pat McGillan, Michael Bannister, Elsie Foote and Ellis Nottingham were on top form. Julie Hogg and Betty McHugh were the lucky raffle ticket holders.

NEW BENEFICE: The River Idle Benefice is the name that has been given to the group of five churches of St John the Baptist, Misson, St Helena’s, Austerfield, St Nicholas, Bawtry, Holy Trinity, Everton and All Saints, Mattersey. Rev Jonathan Strickland heads the new benefice.
