ASTON FOOTPATH WALKERS: The 7.5 mile walk on August 27 was from Moscar Lodge to Cutthroat Bridge on A57, the foot of Stanage Edge and Hathersage. The local walk on August 30 was from Church Lane, Aston to Aston Ponds, Nickerwood Farm, Norwood, Rother Valley Country Park and back to Aston.
ASTON-CUM-AUGHTON HISTORY GROUP: The group is opening the William Layne Reading Room on September 11 6-8pm and September 12 10am-4pm as part of Heritage Open Days.
GARDEN PARTY: A garden party at the home of Maureen and David Knowles in Aughton on August 22 raised over £400 for Macmillan Nurses.
