Wedding planning on a tight schedule . . it can be done!

Amy Scarfe married Gareth Scarfe on July 16, 2010, at Wadhurst Castle, East Sussex.

Amy, who now lives in Melbourne, Australia, had just three months to plan her wedding and reassures brides and grooms that it is possible.

Here are her top tips:

1 Have your wedding on a Friday rather than a Saturday as you will have a better chance of the venue, caterer, photographer and band that you want all being available on the same day (and it is cheaper!).

2 Chose your dress as soon as possible as it takes a while for all the fittings and alterations to be made.

3 Plan your time carefully and make sure you spend most time on the most important things, don’t let all the little details absorb you.

4 Delegate tasks to family and friends that you trust that they will do it right and leave them to it.

5 Chose a venue that has a regular caterer that they use and that you like. The caterer will know the venue well and the day will run much smoother.

6 Listen to the venue’s wedding organiser, they will have been involved in many weddings at the venue and will know what works best in terms of the timing of the day, seating arrangements, table linen, where the cake should stand etc. This will save you from having to think about the small details.

7 Don’t let people tell you that planning a wedding in three months can’t be done!
