Village gearing up for show

VEGETABLES and flowers as well as handicrafts are among the attractions at a village show next weekend.

The Thorpe Hesley and Scholes Village Show takes place at Trinity Community Centre, Thorpe Hesley, on Saturday.

The event will also include fruit, cookery, children’s and floral art classes.

Entries will be accepted from 8.30 to 11am and the show opens at 12.30pm, with admission £1 per adult.

The day will also feature a variety of stalls as well as lunches, games and other attractions.
