The Sound of Music comes to Wickersley
The stage will be alive with the sound of music as the “super talented” cast of Wickersley Youngstars perform the Sound of Music at the Civic next week.
The musical, based on the classic film, is the group’s first show since Covid and the cast is “super excited”, according to business manager Sam Sissions.
Sam said: “This is our first show since lockdown.

“It’s a feel-good story but an emotional show, I suppose.
“There are seven children, aged between five and 16, and you get to know them.
“Everybody’s welcome. It’s a family show — suitable for grandchildren and grandparents as well.”
Sam said some of the cast of 23 — all aged between eight and 21 — were taking on their first major role in the play, which centres around nanny Maria, famously played in the film by Julie Andrews.

“For some, it will be their first main role. It’s a super talented cast.”
