Christine Batchford from Rotherham TimeBuilders, which is supporting the project, said: “We are hoping to use food that would otherwise have been wasted and are currently in discussion with Tesco, Morrison’s and Asda about receiving donations from them.
“The food is all vegetarian and we will be opening the doors after Christmas to local people to join us for a healthy, low cost meal.

“We are looking for some more volunteers who like to cook or are looking to be involved in an innovative community endeavour to join our team.”
Time Builders was launched in July to help bring people together to volunteer their time and share their skills.
