Super Sunday at country park fun day

Batman, Superman, Spiderman, Iron Man and Wonder Woman will take time out from their busy crime fighting schedules to help residents find their inner powers at Thrybergh Country Park.

The fun day will be held on Sunday (June 26) from 11am to 4pm with activities for all ages and attendees encouraged to dress up and get ready for lots of super fun.

Become Spiderman by having a go on the climbing wall or be a speedboat daredevil on the boating lake. 

Youngsters can also have a go at Iron Man sports or try out the Wonder Woman assault course.

You can also meet local heroes from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, the Rotherham Fostering team and wildlife protection groups among others, who will all have stalls on the day.

There is also a wildlife treasure hunt, a vintage bus, make your own pottery, face painting and competitions.

Cllr Taiba Yasseen, cabinet member for neighbourhood working and cultural services, said: “This is sure to be a fantastic, fun-packed day for all the family. 

“Kids won’t know where to start with all that’s on offer, while parents can relax in the beautiful – and usually peaceful – surroundings.

“Thrybergh Country Park is a lovely part of Rotherham, and the new Tutti Frutti ice cream parlour and soft play area means there’s never been a better time to visit. 

“So come and join us for a super Sunday full of fun for everyone.”
