Student Ruby's pub fundraiser for Africa mission

A CHARITY night is being held next week by a student preparing for a mission to Africa.

Ruby Stanley (13) is organising the event at the County Borough in the town centre next Thursday (4) for World Challenge.

She and her classmates at Winterhill School are hoping to travel to Tanzania to meet children in local schools and climb Mount Kilimanjaro.

Ruby’s mum Rebecca, who works at the pub, said Ruby, of Meadowbank, had decided to raise funds to help cover the cost of the expedition.

Next Thursday’s event, from 3pm onwards, will feature bingo, a raffle, auction and karaoke.
