Snowdrops form “carpets of blooms” in Wentworth Woodhouse's gardens.

A HOST of dazzling snowdrops are on display to visitors of Wentworth Woodhouse's gardens.

The distinctive white flowers, one of the first indicators of the coming spring, have formed carpets of blooms around the mansion’s grounds.

The picturesque scenes are thanks to backbreaking toil each year by head Gardner Scott Jamieson, his right-hand man Andy Smith and their two teams of local garden volunteers - the Tuesday Welly Wangers and the Wednesday Bramble Bashers.
