The sponsored leg-waxing challenge at S62 Tattoo saw seven men and three women coming forward for gruelling beauty treatment.

It brought in more than £500 for 4Louis, a charity which funds “cuddle cots” to allow bereaved families of stillborn babies to spend more time with lost loved ones.

The event was organised by Toni Connell, of Whiston, who lost her baby daughter Violet Honey in 2008.

She said: “I’d say about 50 people turned up through out the day to show support give us a donation or play the raffle.”

Toni is organising a table top sale at Thrybergh Country park from noon on December 15.
