School gets set for summer fair

PARENTS and pupils are set to come together for a summer fair aiming to raise funds for school trips and equipment.

The Friends of Montagu Primary School have organised the event which will take place at the school on Park Lane, Mexborough, between 10am and 1pm on Saturday.

A lucky dip, tombola, a penalty shoot-out competition and performances from the school’s brass band will all be part of the attractions on the day.

Friends of Montagu Primary School member Amanda Burgin said: “The children are helping out a lot and are really looking forward to it.

“With schools struggling for funding at the moment, this kind of thing is vital to ensure that trips go ahead and equipment can be bought.”
