Santas kick off Christmas at Manvers Lake
THE Santa Squad was out in force on a chilly December morning to kick off their Christmas in style.
Manvers Lake once again hosted the Santa Dash in memory of teacher Hana Szczepkowski, who died of cancer aged only 31.
The ever-popular annual run — which this year featured dozens of Santas of all ages and even the odd reindeer — is coordinated by Manvers Waterfront Boat Club and raises money for cancer charity Team Verrico, who supported Hana throughout her illness.
Laurel Academy teacher Hana died in 2016 and many of her former colleagues have made lacing up and lapping the lake a festive tradition.
