Rotherham's gone gadget-crazy
Six in ten of those surveyed said that they would feel anxious and upset without their favourite gadget for a week
Top of the list of most-cherished items in the study, commissioned by the Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA), was the Internet, followed by laptops and kitchen appliances.

The experiment also revealed, however, that Rotherham folk scored highest in the country for being able to change a plug, with 70 per cent of people saying they could, compared to 30 per cent nationally.
Speaking about the findings, Steve Bratt of the ECA, said: “The survey demonstrates just how attached we have all become to our gadgets and appliances.
“We have become increasingly reliant on electrical items as they have developed over the years, to the extent that some people are upset when for whatever reason they cannot use their mobile telephone or switch their kettle on, for example.”
