Rotherham parks to host Hallowe'een fun

IF you go down in the woods this Hallowe’en you’re sure of a big, scary surprise.

Rotherham Borough Council’s Green Spaces staff have lined up two spooky Hallowe’en hunts to get youngsters in the mood for the scariest events of the year.

Little ghouls aged between 6 and 11 are being invited to dress up in their Hallowe’en costumes and join the green Spaces team in Barkers Park where they will be supplied with a map to help them find their way through the spooky woods . .  . without knowing what is hiding inside.

There will be questions to answer and prizes to win.

The event will be held on October 30 between 1pm and 2.30pm and there will be a similar event in Herringthorpe Valley Park on November 2, also between 1pm and 2.30pm.

Green Spaces Officer Donna Morton, said: "These events are always popular with families and really help to get people in the mood for trick-or-treating, but, don't forget, all children must be accompanied by an adult and booking in advance is essential.

"Collect your free answer sheets and map from the pavilions in each park and hunt down the horrible horrors that lurk within the ghoulish green spaces!”
