Rotherham-born author makes debut with tale of Elizabethan skulduggery

Hide AdThe tale is about Sir Thomas Scrope, who, after arriving in Bristol in 1574, becomes involved in civil uprising, kidnap, assault, assassination, intrigue, murder and betrayal while being ambushed, stabbed and blown-up, facing financial ruin and, last but not least, the disapproval of his sister-in-law.
The sequel is called Serpentine and this and further books set in Yorkshire probe even more into the fascinating and turbulent relationship the county had with the complex politics of the day.
