Rock on . . . choir makes Guinness Book of Records

IT’S official — Rotherham singers have rocked their way into the record books

Members of the Rotherham Rock Choir learned this week that they had played their part in a successful record attempt, as the Guinness World Record organisation verified their bid for a new record.

More than 100 people gathered in Clifton Park last month as Rock Choir singers at 38 locations nationwide simultaneously performed a specially-arranged and choreographed version of the Bryan Adams and Melanie C duet Baby When You're Gone.

The 7,914 people taking part nationally secured the world record for “the largest song and dance routine held at multiple locations” and raised £10,000 for the charity Refuge through donations and sponsorship.
