Repair work needed for roof of historic Clifton Park Museum

ROTHERHAM Council has applied for permission to repair the roof at grade II-listed Clifton Park Museum.

The works mainly consist of alterations to the drainage system and replacement of defective flat roof coverings.

Issues with the surface water system have led to overflows causing damage to the inside of the Clifton Lane building, constructed in 1783 for the industrial pioneering Walker family.

The museum opened in 1893, two years after the opening of the park.
