Reeling in cash for cancer hospital

For the third year running, they are holding a charity fishing match along the Mexborough Canal.

Organiser David Geldard, of Wath Road in Mexborough, said that the event on July 31 will raise cash for Sheffield’s Weston Park Hospital.

Last year the event raised £280 and Mr Geldard hopes that even more will be raised this year.

He is also looking for donated prizes to give to the competitors who catch the most fish.

The fishing match will start at 7.30am and the fee to take part is £10.
