Mexborough hosts outdoor cinema


The event is being run by the Right Up Our Street team who are inviting everyone to pull up a hay bale, grab the popcorn and enjoy the day of films.
The Right Up Our Street initiative encourages people in Doncaster to create and share cultural ideas to make art and performance happen in surprising and exciting ways.

Hide AdFunded by Arts Council England’s Creative People and Places until 2016, the project works across the Doncaster borough with a particular focus on; Balby, Bentley, Rossington, Mexborough, East Doncaster and Doncaster town centre.
Dominic Somers, from Right Up Our Street, said: “We are so excited to be bringing outdoor cinema to the town as part of the Mexborough Film Project.
“We'll be closing Hope Street for a full day of films for everyone on Thursday, August 14.”
The films shown will be:
1pm – Frozen or Despicable Me.
3pm – Kes
5pm – Flash Gordon staring Mexborough’s own son Brian Blessed.
Dominic added: “This is just the start of regular film events in Mexborough so come and join us and get ready for some more coming soon.”
