Martial arts and music on way to venue

FROM tribute acts to TV talent show stars – a South Yorkshire venue has announced its line-up of events for next month.

Doncaster Dome will kick things off next Sunday, September 3, with tribute band Supreme Queen.

The group has been performing across the globe for two decades and gained a great following.

On Friday, September 8, Michael Jackson tribute artist Navi: King of Pop will be joined on stage by the iconic performer's own guitarist Jennifer Batten, who was Michael’s “right-hand woman” on three sell-out world tours.

Saturday, September 9, sees the return of an epic night of mixed martial arts action with Caged Steel 33.

Around 2,000 fans of Conor McGregor and the Ultimate Fighting Championship are expected at the venue.

On Friday, September 15, The Last Days of Disco will see So Diva, championed by Sir Tom Jones on ITV'S The Voice UK, embark on their first National theatre tour.

The show – performed by five lead vocalists and complimented by a seven-piece live band – will feature a setlist of 80s dance floor classics from Irene Cara, Lipps Inc, The Pointer Sisters, Kool and the Gang, Stephanie Mills, Shalamar, and many more.

Straight from off Broadway to a sell-out run in London, the new parody musical now heads to Doncaster as part of a UK nationwide theatre tour.

The award-winning sci-fi spoof is a “wild, irreverent twist on the hit Netflix series” and has an age restriction for entry - over 12s and at an adult’s discretion.

September is rounded off with Nearly Elton on Friday, September 29, when music fans will be invited to experience the ultimate Elton John tribute concert.

A celebration of the music and life of one of the greatest showmen of our time, the show will take audiences on a magical ride through five decades of hits including Rocketman, Your Song, I'm Still Standing, I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues, and Candle In The Wind.
