Manor house to open doors for Tour de Yorkshire

A FORMER council building is set to provide the venue for a fun day to mark the Tour de Yorkshire bike race on Saturday.

Sabar Homes Ltd will host a family fun day on the grounds of The Priory in Conisbrough, opposite St Peter’s Church and Conisbrough Castle on the High Street.

Baz Sabar, property developer and director of Sabar Homes Ltd, is opening the five acres of grounds of the Grade II listed manor house to the public for the first time.

The event will include fairground rides, a bouncy castle, face painting, entertainment, a barbecue, burger bar and ice cream van.

There will be free entry.

Mr Sabar’s wife, Jessie Sabar, has been organising the day’s activities with traders and businesses.

The Priory has been empty for a number of years but now the grounds have been prepared and buildings repainted in time for the Tour de Yorkshire event.

The building has been decorated with blue and yellow bunting and yellow bikes have been scattered around its grounds.
