Let's get Rotherham working...

TODAY the Advertiser kicks off a campaign in a bid to help get Rotherham back to work.

We are joining forces with Jobcentre Plus and other employment experts to provide job-hunting tips and round-up opportunities around the borough.

The scheme has already been backed by work and pensions minister Mark Hoban and John Walker, national chairman of the Federation of Small Businesses.

Mr Hoban said: "It’s great to see the Advertiser helping its readership connect with opportunities that are out there."

Unemployment in the borough rose from 5.7 per cent in 2007 to 11.4 per cent in 2012 — leaving more than 14,000 people currently looking for work, according to the Office of National Statistics.
