Jet-ski champions head for Rother Valley Country Park

JET-SKI riders from all over Britain, Belgium and the Netherlands will be competing in a top competition at Rotherham Valley Country Park this weekend.

They will be taking part in the Jet Ski Championship event and spectators will be able to watch free.

Alan Pickard of the Sheffield and District Jet Ski Club said: "It is brilliant that this event is returning to Rother Valley Country Park in 2012.

“It is great for competitors to race at a local venue and for the spectators there will be World, European and British Champions present, sit down and stand up riders, the Super Start class and other classes competing in the Park."

The hjet-skiers will be practising on the main lake from 12 noon to 6 pm on Saturday, May 5. The actual competition will take place from 9 am to 12 noon to 6pm on the following day.

The event is free to watch, although parking charges £3.50 per day for cars, £2 per day for disabled Blue Badge holders, will apply.
