Immigration tackled in new play

AN actress who has experienced life in a detention centre for immigrants stars in a new play coming to South Yorkshire later this month.

Emily Ntshangase-Wood stars in Tanja which will be staged at Doncaster’s Cast Theatre on September 21.

It will also be staged at the Crucible Studio in Sheffield on September 29.

Tanja is the story of a woman’s bravery in the midst of prejudice and abuse at a time when immigration is a hot topic.

Tanja blends the stories of asylum seekers held at Yarl’s Wood Immigration Removal Centre in Bedfordshire.
