Hunt is on for singing nuns with attitude

NUNS wanting to get “back in the habit” are being desperately sought by an amateur dramatic group.

Preparations for Thurcroft Musical Theatre Group’s next cabaret show are already underway but the production is short of a few sisters with attitude.

The show will feature songs from Sister Act The Movie but budding Whoopi Goldbergs or Maggie Smiths are still needed.

Group secretary Anne Giblin said they were in need of “nuns” who were interested in learning how to sing gospel style and able to learn simple dance routines.

She added: “We do specifically need females for these parts but we will be able to involve men in other sections of the show.”

The October production will also feature songs from Fiddler on the Roof, Chorus Line and Cabaret.

Anne added: “Members must be at least 14 years of age. If you are interested in treading the boards and getting back in the habit, you can pop along to rehearsals on Wednesdays from 7.30pm to 9.45pm at the Gordon Bennett Memorial Hall in Thurcroft.”
