ROTHERHAM is set to be bouncing when History Parties brings the History of House music event to Magna tomorrow night.

Legendary DJs are flying in from all over the world, including partying destinations such as Ibiza, Dubai and New York, to make this journey through the History of House Music one to remember.

Around four to five thousand people are expected at the Science Adventure Centre to see household names such as Brandon Block and Todd Terry, as well as the man who is nicknamed ‘The Godfather of House music’ for his role in the early days, Farley ‘Jackmaster’ Funk.

There will be five rooms that take you on a journey from the inception of house music with Farley in Chicago through to The Hacienda in Manchester and The Space Terrace in Ibiza, there is sure to be something for all House music fans.

Local businessman and organiser of the event Spencer Fearn said: “Everyone goes to Leeds or Manchester, where the Warehouse Project is selling out 3,500 people every Friday night, South Yorkshire needs something like that.

“Being a Rotherham lad, and seeing what the town has gone through in recent years - right back to the minors strike - I decided I wanted to put something back into Rotherham.

“Tickets have sold really well and it’s sure to be a cracking night, this night will be getting all the names everyone knows in one building, it’s not to be missed.

There is still time to pick up tickets if you haven’t got yours yet. They are available to purchase on the door at £35 each and last entries are at 2am.
