Help get Rotherham residents online

TENANTS’ GROUP RotherFed is on the hunt for digital champions to help residents get online.

RotherFed digital champions are people who are already using the Internet and can encourage and support people to take the first steps to get online.

Those applying need a willingness to help and support other residents to get to grips with the Internet, basic skills in using computers and tablets and a willingness to undertake an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Check.

A free information session will be held from 2pm and 4pm on Tuesday, April 28, at Springwell Gardens Community Centre where existing digital champions will be on hand during the afternoon to describe what they already do  and what becoming a digital champion may involve.

Steve Ruffle from RotherFed said: “There are still many people around Rotherham who are still unable or concerned about getting online.

“RotherFed's digital champions help give people the confidence to make some first steps to get online and  show the internet is for everyone.”
