Fundraisers will ‘spring’ into action at Mayor's event

FUNDRAISERS will ‘spring’ into action at an event to raise money for the Mayor of Rotherham’s charities of the year.

Home-made cakes, Easter-themed crafts and a tombola will be held in the main entrance at Rotherham Hospital at a spring fair, with all the funds raised split equally between Cllr Tajamal Khan’s chosen charities — Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity, Shiloh, Rotherham Cancer Care, and Rotherham United Community Sports Trust.

Cllr Khan said: “I’m working with some incredible local charities this year and it’s great to see them come together to raise money at our spring fair.

“All the funds we raise will really make a difference to charities supporting people in Rotherham, whether those receiving NHS care, cancer support, those experiencing homelessness or for children and young people accessing more opportunities to enjoy sport.”

The event will be held at the hospital between 10am and 2pm on Thursday, March 30.

Easter eggs and tombola prizes can be donated by visiting the Charity Hub, based in the hospital’s main entrance opposite Boots, or at Rotherham Town Hall.
