Family fun day to help our heroes

Put together by Webhelp, the event will take place at Mexborough Athletic Sports Club on July 9, kicking off at noon.

Organiser Alan Leonard said he hoped the event would show the talents of the whole community and encouraged people to get involved.

He said: “Rather than just involving Webhelp staff, we decided to do a community event.

“We are looking for all Mexborough people to pull together to show how great our community is.

“We have a Help For Heroes merchandise stall, Tuby’s Fun Fair, classic cars, modified cars, craft and trade stalls and a car boot, plus lots more.

“We are also looking for any local groups that are willing to come along on the day and do an exhibition, so any dance troupes, marching bands, brass bands, martial arts groups, animal display groups, anything whatsoever, you are all welcome. 

“We are also looking for anyone who wants to have a craft or trade stall but you will need to bring your own tables.

“We will ask for a minimum donation of just £10. If you want to give more that’s excellent, with all money raised going towards Help for Heroes.

“We will also be holding a Help for Heroes giant raffle. If you would like to donate a prize, please get in touch to organise collection or drop of.”
