Fairytale ending for plucky hens
The British Hen Welfare Trust is now looking for more kind-hearted members of the public to offer hens a sunny summer start to their well-deserved retirement.
The national charity, which celebrates its tenth Anniversary this year has saved 470,000 chickens from slaughter re-homed since it started in 2005.

Local co-ordinator, Louise Addy, said: “These endearing hens make amazing pets and soon adapt to family life, which is a pleasant contrast to their previous life as colony hens.
“If you haven’t adopted hens before, it’s incredibly rewarding and the feel-good factor in saving their lives is simply unbeatable.”
The charity asks for a donation for the hens adopted.
