Comedian Peter Kay cancels stand-up tour due to "unforeseen family circumstances"

The 44-year-old asked for privacy and said he was “very sorry.”
In a statement, he said: “Due to unforeseen family circumstances I deeply regret that I am having to cancel all my upcoming work projects.

“My sincerest apologies. This decision has not been taken lightly and I’m sure you'll understand my family must always come first.
“I’ve always endeavoured to protect my family's privacy from the media. I hope that the media and public will continue to respect our privacy at this time. Once again I'm very sorry.”
The Bolton stand-up announced the Peter Kay Live Tour earlier this year, marking his first comedy tour in eight years. Tickets sold out almost immediately leading to extra dates being added.
The statement said customers who have bought stand-up tour or Dance For Life tickets will be refunded from their original point of purchase.
