They will be joined by Natasha Magigi and Spitting Image’s Steve Nallon (most famous for his Margaret Thatcher impersonation) to revisit the story and culture behind the side-splitting sketches as well as bringing Dawson and Barraclough’s comedy genius back to life.

Cissie and Ada, the immortal TV comic characters created by Les Dawson, first appeared on TV in the British comedy sketch show Sez Les, where it became a regular sketch.

The show ran for 11 series from 1969-1976 with the duo making Ian McKellen’s Ten Best Drag Acts in the Independent in 2006.

The pair were last seen on the Grand Theatre Blackpool stage in 1983 as part of Laugh with Les.

Tickets, which are available from either the Box Office in the Visitor Centre in All Saints’ Square, or online at www.Rotherham.gov.uk/theatres, are  £15 (concessions £13).
