Church starts kids’ group in Herringthorpe

A NEW group for five and six year olds has been started at a church.

The group follows in the footsteps of successful clubs for older children.

Hi 5! sessions are held at Herringthorpe United Reformed Church on Wickersley Road at 4.30pm until 5.30pm every Wednesday.

The sessions are run by the church’s children’s worker Nic Blackmore and families worker Theresa Miall.

Mr Blackmore said: “Our Kidz Club for children aged seven-plus and our youth club for those aged 11-plus have proven very successful and are very popular with local children.

“However, we realised that younger siblings were feeling a bit left out so we have started a club for them, too.”

He said that children attending the club can enjoy stories, crafts and games.
