Children’s play centre giving away free tickets

A LEADING children’s play centre has launched an initiative to help local families struggling with the ongoing cost-of-living crisis over the summer months

Play Valley – which has three South Yorkshire sites including one at Rotary Drive, Wath – is giving away 50 family tickets per site to those who would benefit most to help alleviate pressures as a response to the crisis.

Sarah Jesson, director of Play Valley which also has sites in Doncaster and Sheffield, said: “With prices of everyday essentials so high, we know many families are having to make difficult choices and visiting any kind of play centre or having a day out during the summer will have to be carefully considered or not even an option at all.

“We see and feel the effects ourselves, from families we speak to and experiences within our own family.

“Of course, it’s impacting small businesses, but we know how vital play is to children, benefiting their health, socialisation skills, emotional well-being, and development.”

Anyone who feels they would genuinely benefit from this initiative can apply for a family ticket – up to four people – by sending an email to [email protected] with full name, telephone number, preferred centre and the number of people you would like to attend.

All requests will be met on a first-come-first-served basis and time-stamped by the receipt of the email request.

If the scheme proves popular with families, Play Valley will run a second round, and therefore hold all details on a waiting list.
