Buble tickets on sale for surprise South Yorkshire show

INTERNATIONAL mega star Michael Buble is giving Dearne Valley fans a “once in a lifetime” opportunity to join him for an exclusive preview of his upcoming sell-out tour.

The charitable-minded star has been rehearsing at Sheffield’s Motorpoint Arena and decided to open the doors to fans in a bid to raise money for local causes.

The star announced this week that following successful technical rehearsals and sound checks, he is welcoming local fans to be the very first to enjoy the complete full show before it goes on the road.

He said: “There are a lot of really kind, down to earth people in South Yorkshire.

“Every time I’ve done shows here it’s great because people are fun and don’t take themselves too seriously - hopefully I’m a lot like them.”

Michael’s up-coming tour includes ten nights at the O2 Arena in London, five nights at The O2 in Dublin and an extensive tour of North America.

Fans can now purchase specially-priced £25 tickets with proceeds being split between children’s charities Cash for Kids and Sheffield’s Children’s Hospital.

Venue manager Rob O’Shea said he was excited by the challenge of hosting a concert for 12,000 music fans all within 72 hours.

“This will be the first time in the building’s 22 year history that we have ever announced, put on sale and hosted a show within such a short space of time.

“The quick turnaround time will bring with it some challenges but when Michael Buble says he wants to put a show on in your venue you do everything you can to make it possible.”

Following the show, the venue will close until September 8 for refurbishment.

Rob added: “What a way to close the building with a special one-off Michael Buble concert followed by the multi-million pound summer refurbishment.”
