Big crowds expected for Ulley Country Park's big day

ORGANISERS hope this year’s gala at Ulley Country Park will again bring high numbers to the popular leisure spot.

The Friends of Ulley Country Parks are preparing for the event next Sunday, June 24, which coincides with their monthly cafe day.

Entertainment is from Rotherham Town Brass Band and a range of children’s activities will be on offer, from pond-dipping sessions to ball games.

A number of organisations will be represented with stalls and displays, including the RSPB, South Yorkshire Badger Group and South Yorkshire Police.

It takes place from 10am to 4pm and the Mayor and Mayoress of Rotherham, Cllr Dave and Sue Pickering, will also attend.

Friends chairman Dave Haswell said: “Last year attracted over a thousand visitors and we are hoping for similar numbers this year.”
